Dave joined us after a nineteen-year tenure at Jim Old’s where he held rode as an apprentice and held placements with Sir Mark Prescott and Fulke Johnson-Houghton. Dave then spent 12 years as Travelling Head Lad at Brian Meehan Racing and recently took over as Head Lad where he is responsible for the day to day running of the yard, medicals, staff management and coordinating the work. He has spent over thirty years riding horses at the highest level and still acts as one of Brian’s main Work Riders. His favourite moments have been Dangerous Midge winning The Breeder’s Cup and Spark Plug winning The Cambridgeshire at Newmarket. He has a daughter who is threatening to follow in his footsteps and he enjoys teaching her to ride and watching the football in his spare time.
